LANGUAGE/CULTURAL GROUPS
The Koling Wada Ngal steering committee who are responsible for the centre includes First Nations peoples who live and work in Melbourne’s inner west. The centre is on Wathaurung Country, and the Wauthaurung Aboriginal Corporation were consulted during the design of the centre. Wathaurung language is used throughout the centre for all naming and signage.

PNG has over 800 different dialects, 87 districts, 22 provinces and 4 regions all tied together by this common language. The people directly connected to and funding the project are from the Highlands Region, and specifically the traditional people of the Star Mountain area - the Fasu people
